Number.IntegerDivide

Updated on

Number.IntegerDivide is a Power Query M function that calculates the integer portion of the result from dividing one number by another. The function returns the integer portion of the division result or null if either of the input numbers are null.

Compatible with: Power BI Service Power BI Desktop Excel Microsoft 365

Syntax

Number.IntegerDivide(
   number1 as nullable number,
   number2 as nullable number,
   optional precision as nullable number,
) as nullable number
Argument Attribute Description
number1
number2
precision optional The Precision.Type specifies the accuracy level for calculations. When omitting this argument, Power Query uses Precision.Double by default, which, while efficient, may cause rounding errors with very small fractions. For greater accuracy Precision.Decimal offers a more precise number representation, ideal for tasks requiring high precision.

Description

Returns the integer portion of the result from dividing a number, number1, by another number, number2. If number1 or number2 are null, Number.IntegerDivide returns null.

  • number1: The dividend.
  • number2: The divisor.

Examples
